David Letterman called it quits after 33 years as a late night talk show host on Wednesday, and for two-thirds of that time, Jim Abbott has cherished a gift from the comedian.
Abbott appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman after throwing his amazing no-hitter with the Yankees in 1993, and following the appearance was sent one of the host's then-signature cigars.
The one-handed pitcher has kept the gift ever since, and on the occasion of Dave's final show, he tweeted out the memento to his followers.
