Yankee Stadium shows American Pharoah Triple Crown finish

Just before the New York Yankees were set to start Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, the Yankee Stadium centerfield videoboard showed American Pharoah’s Triple Crown finish at the Belmont Stakes.

Now this is cool. Just before the New York Yankees were set to start Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, the Yankee Stadium centerfield videoboard showed American Pharoah’s Triple Crown finish at the 147th Belmont Stakes.

Jockey Victor Espinoza rode American Pharoah to victory, just as he did at the Kentucky Derby and Preakness. As the pair rode down the final stretch, the crowd at Yankee Stadium loudly cheered them on, with the applause steadily growing.

What a moment, and good for the Yankees for getting the video up there. Even casual observers and non-horse racing fans eagerly awaited the chance to see if American Pharoah would become the 12th Triple Crown winner and the first in 37 years.

Indeed, the horse made history.
