The Mystics were on their way home to Washington, D.C., for the All-Star break after beating the Shock on Tuesday, but mechanical trouble delayed their flight, causing them to miss their connector in Atlanta, according to The Washington Post.
The team had called ahead to the Atlanta airport requesting the flight to D.C. be held until they arrived and also requested an escort so they could get to their next plane as quickly as possible, but Delta provided neither and the team was left in Georgia.
Stuck in the airport with no plane to take them home, the team jumped on Twitter and unleashed a series of very angry messages at the airline.

Thanks Delta for leaving us in Atlanta tonight. Might have left a third of your passengers behind. Hard to win loyal customers.

@Delta your awful. You make us late to our layover and don't hold it for 10 mins. Ridiculous. Half the flight is here in Atlanta.

Hey @Delta what's the cost of 17 hotel rooms and 17 re-bookings? Probably more than holding a flight 10 minutes right? #math

Hey @Delta thanks for not waiting 10 minutes for a group of 17 people on the last flight of the night. Keep doing you.

Hey @Delta quick question do you cover minibar expenses? Asking for 16 friends

@Delta @DeltaAssist @DeltaNewsHub I hate you even more now knowing I could be home sleeping in my own bed...but wait! You left us last night

Delta did eventually respond to the team on Twitter, although it did not seem to understand the players' and coaches’ mood very well
