Gatorade in Sports
In 1965, at the request of the football coach, a team of scientists (led by Dr. Robert Cade) at the University of Florida developed Gatorade. 50 years later, it’s synonymous with sports drinks, and is firmly a part of American pop culture. The Gators may have taken 26 years to win an officially recognized SEC Championship, but at least they weren’t thirsty.
