After backlash, Islanders return to old goal horn

The Islanders unveiled a new goal horn for the Barclays Center on Monday. It lasted all of four days.
After considerable backlash to the new horn—a higher-pitched tone the Islanders’ new arena apparently worked on with the Metropolitan Transit Authority to, apparently, resemble a Long Island Railroad train horn—the team changed its mind.
Instead, the team said on Thursday it would go back to using the goal horn Islanders fans grew to love over 43 seasons at the Nassau Coliseum.
Rejoice, Islanders fans. This is back:

It turns out hockey fans are pretty passionate people, so Thursday’s news was welcomed with tweets of elation far and wide.

The Islanders have their old goal horn back (thank goodness). Next: getting rid of those black-and-white third jerseys. @RealMichaelKay
