Saskatoon Blades have Hoth-inspired jerseys for Star Wars night
The newest installment of the Star Wars franchise is coming soon and the Saskatoon Blades are looking to capitalize by holding a Star Wars night at the SaskTel Centre, featuring jerseys inspired by the ice planet Hoth.
Blades president Steve Hogle seems very excited to be bringing the theme night to life for fans
“Our vision for a Star Wars night has been in the making for a long time. We’re thrilled PotashCorp, and the Food Banks are stepping forward to help us take this out of this world franchise with such a down to earth cause: hunger. We must also thank the people at Lucasfilm, who have been unbelievable to deal with.”

The jerseys were approved by Lucasfilm Ltd. and will be auctioned off to benefit the Food Banks of Saskatchewan. The team is also encouraging fans to dress as their favorite characters from the franchise and to bring in canned food for the drive.
This seems like a fun night for a good cause but it is a real shame that science has not yet come far enough to enable the players to use lightsabers as sticks.
