Dolphins bringing back white hankies tradition for Monday Night Football
The Dolphins will be celebrating the franchise’s 50th anniversary on Monday night and as part of the festivities they will bring back the fan tradition of waving white hankies by handing them out as spectators enter the stadium.

Miami began waving the flags back in 1971 as a promotion by a local radio station designed to show advertisers how many of their fans were attending the team’s games, according to the Sun Sentinel.
Many of the team’s legendary figures are in town for the event and attended a gala event on Friday night, and the Miami Herald reports Larry Csonka, Dan Marino, Mercury Morris and Don Shula were all in attendance.
