On Monday, word spread around the web that the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association had told its students that chants like “Fundamentals,” “Air ball” and “Scoreboard” were considered unsportsmanlike.

On Tuesday, high schoolers in Wisconsin spoke out against the WIAA.

A group of students at Ashwaubenon High School attended a game dressed in black, with duct tape over their mouths that read ‘WIAA.’

These students made one thing clear— they don’t want to be seen as disrespectful or unruly for supporting their team with chants common to sporting events.
