Watch: Lacrosse fans throw their socks when a guy scores six goals
Did you know scoring six goals in lacrosse is called a sock trick?
Everyone knows what a hat trick is, but what about a sock trick?
Lacrosse fans apparently have a tradition where they throw socks on the field after a player’s sixth goal of the game. It started with Gary Gait’s six-goal effort in a 2004 game with the Colorado Mammoth and the Colorado fans continued the tradition on Saturday when Adam Jones notched six goals against the Buffalo Bandits.

Jones now leads the league with 13 goals in three games. The sock-trick goal cut the Colorado deficit to one and Jones also assisted on Mike Burke’s overtime game-winner.
