Here are the dunks we want to see at the Slam Dunk Contest
The NBA Slam Dunk Contest is a little played out. Once you’ve seen Michael Jordan take off from the free-throw line and Vince Carter do everything else, are there really any cool dunks left?
With all due respect to Zach LaVine, it’s been a little while since the dunk contest really wowed us. If players are short of ideas, we have some suggestions on how to spice things up. Here are some free dunk ideas, courtesy of the Extra Mustard staff.
“The The Life of Pablo”
What you’ll need:
The Life of Pablo CD, Clothes from the Yeezy Season 3 collection.
The Dunk:
Dunk while listening to The Life of Pablo and wearing Yeezy boots and a baggy sweater. No Smiling.
“The Jetpack”
What you’ll need:
A jetpack.
The Dunk:
Use a jetpack to fly to the top of the arena, turn the jetpack off and dunk as you free fall toward the hoop, turning the jetpack on at the last second before you land.
“The In Love with The CoCo”
What you’ll need:
A steaming hot cup of hot cocoa, some marshmallows.
The Dunk:
Go up with the ball in one hand and the mug in the other. As you slam the ball take the drink and whip it through the glass.
“The NBA Jam”
What you’ll need:
A match, lighter fluid, a vat of flame retardant gel.
The Dunk:
Cover yourself in the gel and then the lighter fluid, light the match, and go out in a blaze of slam dunk glory.
“The All Grown Up”
What you’ll need:
A normal Playskool hoop and ball, an NBA-sized Playskool hoop and ball, a child, 2 dozen pixie stix.
The Dunk:
Feed the child the pixie stix and let him or her do their wildest dunks on the small Playskool set, then you recreate them on an NBA-regulation-size plastic hoop with a foam basketball.
“The Shark Tank”
What you’ll need:
A large tank of water, Mark Cuban.
The Dunk:
Perform a routine dunk as Mark Cuban watches while submerged in a tank of water. Then ask him for $1 million dollars for 10% of your app idea, refusing to release him from the tank as he pleads for his life. Diabolically yell, “HOW THE TURN TABLES!”
