Patriots star Rob Gronkowski lands on cover of Madden 17

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will be on the cover of EA Sports Madden 17.

It’s a good week to be Rob Gronkowski.

First, Gronk appeared on the cover of GQ with SI Swimsuit cover model Hailey Clauson. Now he’ll appear on the cover Madden 17.

EA announced Thursday that Gronkowski is the latest cover model for the popular NFL video game, and the first tight end ever to appear on the cover. He may or may not be the first cover athlete to chug a bottle of fireball while riding in an amphibious vehicle.

Previously, EA has allowed fans to vote on the cover athlete but this year’s cover was not left up to a vote. Gronk was a finalist in the voting last year but ultimately lost to Odell Beckham.

Madden 17 comes out on August 23.
