Young Kris Humphries was a dominant swimmer, faster than Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte
27 Olympic medals? Pffft. Big deal. Hawks forward Kris Humphries was a much better swimmer than Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte growing up, and there are records to prove it.
Back in 2003, when Humphries started dating Kim Kardashian, People told you all about his swimming abilities and hinted that he was better than Phelps, but never actually elaborated on that.
Well, KL Chouinard did some digging for Hawks.com on Monday, and found that Humphries held the fastest time in six events back in 1995, at the age of 10. He beat the field (including Phelps and Lochte) in the 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, 50-meter butterfly, 50-meter backstroke, 50-meter breaststroke and 200-meter IM.
In the 100 free, he beat Phelps by four seconds! You can view all the times here.
According to that People interview, Humphries claimed, "It's hard to stay focused on something when you have a ton of success at a young age, so I picked up basketball a little later and rolled with that."
Yep, Humphries was literally too bored being good at swimming that he had to quit. Bow down to the king.- Kenny
