LEGO in Sports
At Fenway Park, LEGO introduced it’s more-than-life-size statue of David Ortiz made out of LEGO bricks. The super-realistic monument immortalizes Big Papi in his signature post-home run stance. It was constructed with 34,510 bricks, took 290 hours to build, weighs 170 pounds, and stands at 6’7” to the top of his left finger. LEGO Ortiz was the star of LEGO Day at Fenway and will be installed permanently in the legendary stadium. Here is a look back at LEGO in the world of sports.
