Carson Wentz was hunting geese when he found out he was the Eagles’ starter

Hard Knocks has led us to believe that all big NFL news is delivered during dramatic meetings in the coach’s office. Not for Carson Wentz.
Wentz was named as the Eagles’ starting quarterback on Monday, beating out veteran backup Chase Daniel. When Wentz learned of the decision, he wasn’t even at the Eagles’ facility. He was out shooting birds.
Carson Wentz was lying in cornfield hunting geese in NJ when he got call from Doug Pederson. Said he got only 1 goose. "Not a good morning."

Hopefully Wentz kept his phone on vibrate, so as not to scare away the geese.
