Wilmer Flores changed his walk-up music to the 'Friends' theme song
Mets infielder Wilmer Flores made a big life decision on Sunday, choosing to walk to the plate to 'I'll Be There for You' by The Remembrants, also known as the theme song from 'Friends.'
Flores, who credits the show for helping him learn the English language, was hitless in nine September at bats before changing his walk-up music. Perhaps he saw this as a way to bust out of the mini-slump.
Here's video of Flores's third at bat on Sunday, when the song played for a second time. The fans clapping along is a nice touch.
Flores's walk-up song is the second fun selection made during the last week, after outfielder Yoenis Cespedes switched his to "The Circle of Life" from The Lion King.
The 25-year-old Flores went 2 for 4 with a run scored in a 5-1 win over the Nationals. See, it's working.
