Indians manager Terry Francona recounted yet another legendary tale in nonchalant fashion on Tuesday, sharing with reporters how he lost his tooth during Game 3 of the ALCS and had it put back in later that night.
Francona, who just last year memorably told a story of how he ate 17 popsicles in one night, said he was just chewing tobacco during Monday’s game when he felt a crunch. It turned out to be a tooth!
I will let Tito share the rest of the story with you like only Tito can:
“I undid my tobacco and there’s my tooth,” is one of the most baseball things I’ve ever heard in my life. Never change, Tito. But maybe lay off the chew a little.
