Five-year-old Louis Kayes is a massive Celtic FC fan, so he felt terrible about missing the team’s last game.

Louis had to skip Celtic’s Scottish Premier League match on Saturday against Motherwell because a friend was throwing a birthday party. Wracked with guilt, he took his mom’s phone and called the team to apologize, hoping to explain himself to manager Brendan Rodgers and captain Scott Brown.

“He wanted to let both of them know he’d missed it in case they were looking for him,” Louis’s mom, Lisa, told the BBC

Louis didn’t get in touch with the club brass, but someone did call back to say “thank you for calling.”

It wasn’t all bad news for Louis, though. At least he enjoyed the party.

“Louis had a great time at the party so it was more than made up for,” Lisa told the Scottish Daily Record. “But to say he was disappointed beforehand is putting it mildly.”

Celtic has a big Champions League game against Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday night and you better believe Louis will be there. He told the BBC he’s predicting a 3–1 victory for the Celts.
