Cheerleader of the Week: Gabi
Cheerleader of the Week: Gabi
My friends would be surprised to know that I:
I sang “All That Jazz” in a singing competition when I was 10 years old…...and I got first place. :)
My favorite person to follow on Social Media is:
Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach. As a Filipino American, I am very proud to say Miss Philippines won the crown in 2015 and I look up to her as well.
My celebrity crush is:
Trey Songs. He has the best booty pump music and motivates me at the gym.
My favorite Phone Apps, Web Sites and/or Blogs are:
Apple music and Yelp!! I always look up reviews...whether it’s looking up a good nail salon or finding a new place to eat.
If you looked at the "most played" songs on my phone or streaming music account, you'd see a lot of:
Rihanna, the Drake & Future mixtape, and Thomas Rhett.
If I had to watch one movie or TV Show over and over and over again, it would be:
She's The Man... my favorite and the most funniest movie ever! No matter how many times I watch it, it never gets old.
My worst habit is:
Being indecisive! I love food places where you can pick at least two different flavors for things... picking one does not do justice for me.
My favorite Professional Sports Teams is:
Currently, the Raiders because I want them to come to Las Vegas. Maybe I could even be a Raiderette someday!
My one guilty pleasure is:
Maple bar doughnuts and a glass of milk. My ultimate weakness!!!
Describe the worst date you've ever been on:
We went to a local Mexican restaurant and one of the servers spilled an entire pitcher of water on me!!! Yes, this really happened.
Why did you decide to become a college/pro cheerleader and/or dancer?
I was a competitive cheerleader my whole life, but never expected to cheer in college. My high school coach convinced me a week before tryouts and it was the best decision I ever made. I realized that college is what you make of it and being a part of athletics is a family you will always be a part of for life. UNLV cheer has allowed me to do what I love, excel in my academics, and has given me my best friends.
Why do you want to become a Sports Illustrated Cheerleader of the Week?
It would be such a great opportunity to represent my school and team. Sports Illustrated is such a renowned magazine and I’ve always read it growing up. It’s my last year as a college cheerleader, so why not end it with a bang. :)
