It’s harder than it looks

Longtime Packers kicker Mason Crosby has made numerous game-winners in his 13-year career but until Monday he’d never done the Lambeau Leap.

Crosby made three field goals in Green Bay’s win over the Lions, including a chip shot from 23 yards out as time expired to push his team’s record to 5–1.

After the kick, long snapper Hunter Bradley helped hoist the 35-year-old into the stands for more of a Lambeau Lift.

Crosby and Bradley had premeditated the celebration months ago in the event of a game-winner at Lambeau. When the time came, the executed the plan perfectly.

“If you kind of saw, he had gone through the line and I see him, and it was like, ‘Oh, this is happening now,’” Crosby said, according to the team website. “I didn’t like running from my teammates, it feels odd to me, I like celebrating with the guys, but that was pretty awesome.”

“He was hyped,” Bradley said. “I was honestly just hoping that he remembered to do it because I took off running. Out of the corner of my eye, I just saw Mason flying down. I was like, ‘Alright, here we go.’ And then he got there and just jumped. I was like, ‘Well, I guess I'm just gonna throw him up there now.’ It was a cool experience.”

It wasn’t as cool as just launching yourself into the crowd but that barrier must be six feet tall and leaping over it is no small feat. Just ask Adam Schefter, who had to clamber up the wall when attempting the Leap during the pregame show.

The Lions got screwed

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers completed a comeback victory against the Lions on Monday Night Football, but not without a little help from the officials.

On two crucial third downs in the fourth quarter, Lions defensive end Trey Flowers was called for phantom illegal hands to the face penalties. In both cases, Flowers clearly grabbed David Bakhtiari by the shoulder pads.

“I didn’t think hands to the chest was a penalty,” Flowers told reporters. “That’s part of a move that I do. So nah, I don't think that was a penalty but they did.”
