Deion Sanders Thinks He Could’ve Been a Star in Third Sport: Lacrosse
New Colorado coach Deion Sanders had a professional career that included moonlighting as a major league baseballer on top of his Hall of Fame football career.
But this week, a trip to a lacrosse game on campus in Boulder got Sanders thinking that he could have played yet another sport at a high level.
“I even went to the lacrosse game this week,” Sanders said as he met with the media on Friday. “I couldn’t stay long because we had some recruits in the house. But that was beautiful and I actually picked up a stick and threw the ball. I should’ve gotten into lacrosse like Jim Brown. I think I would’ve been nice with it. A brother with a stick? That’s something, ain’t it?”
Sanders has never lacked confidence, which will benefit him as he attempts to turn around Colorado, which has been one of the nation’s worst Power 5 programs over the last few seasons.
If he finds a way to turn around Colorado, there could be even bigger programs that could come calling over the next few seasons for Sanders as he continues to evolve in his coaching career.
