Tyreek Hill Tweets Reaction to Being Leveled During Flag Football
Apparently, Tyreek Hill couldn’t wait until after Sunday’s Pro Bowl Games to react to getting unexpectedly leveled during the first of the day’s three flag football games.
Hill took to Twitter mid-game to weigh in on ending up on the receiving end of a big hit from Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey as he was about score. Clearly, the Dolphins receiver, like every other Pro Bowler, came into Allegiant Stadium under the impression that all physical contact would be off the table, thanks to the new format.
“This suppose to be flag meanwhile I’m getting de-cleated,” Hill tweeted along with a smiling emoji with one teary eye.
As Hill alluded to, the newly-imagined Pro Bowl culminated on Sunday with three 7-on-7 flag football games. The AFC and NFC split the first two games to add six points each to the total score of the various skills events from earlier in the day, as well as Day 1 (Thursday), setting the stage for the third flag football game to decide the winning conference.
During Game 1, Raiders receiver Davante Adams looked to score after hauling in a big catch with Ramsey in pursuit. However, as Adams neared the goal line, the wideout pitched the ball to Hill, who went flying after taking a hit from Ramsey. The wild sequence ended with a not-so-surprising unnecessary roughness penalty against Ramsey.
While Hill’s spill likely caused Dolphins management and fans to hold their collective breaths in the moment, the play ended up becoming one of the most memorable of the inaugural event. Only thing left to wonder is if Ramsey delivered the hit out of instinct, or possibly as a message to a guy who previously said the two should box some day. The world may never know.
