Who Is Performing The Super Bowl Halftime Show 2023?

The Super Bowl halftime show has become an institution, as the biggest stars in music take turns performing for America year after year.

This year, that honor belongs to Rihanna. The pop star, who hasn’t released an album since 2016, will get 13 minutes at halftime to perform her biggest hits for the largest TV audience of the year.

Sometimes, the headliner will bring out other stars during the show, but Rihanna hasn’t officially said who, if anyone, will be joining her on stage. So she could surprise America during the show, or she could be performing for all 13 minutes by herself.

Based on her comments to the media, she might take on the challenge alone.

“The setlist was the biggest challenge. That was the hardest, hardest part,” Rihanna said, via the Associated Press. “Deciding how to maximize 13 minutes but also celebrate—that’s what this show is going to be. It’s going to be a celebration of my catalog in the best way that we could have put it together.”

Rihanna added that even though it’s been years since she has performed, she couldn’t pass the opportunity.

“The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages of the world,” she said. “As scary as that was, because I hadn’t been on stage in seven years, there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all.”

For the first time, Apple Music will sponsor the Super Bowl Halftime Show, taking over that title from Pepsi.
