USWNT Star Trinity Rodman Brings Young Soccer Fan to Tears With Gift

The Spirit star made sure to help out the girl after the USWNT’s 2–0 win over Canada in the SheBelieves Cup.

A young fan named Aaliyah attended Thursday’s SheBelieves Cup opener between the United States Women’s National Team and Canada without her Trinity Rodman jersey because the order didn’t arrive in time.

But Rodman, who is in her second year with the team, got word of the girl’s situation and made sure to find her after the team’s 2–0 win in Orlando, Fla.

In a video shared by the National Women’s Soccer League, Rodman removed her game-worn jersey and autographed it for Aaliyah, who immediately began to cry. She started to use Rodman’s jersey to wipe her tears.

Rodman then gave the young fan a hug to cap off the special moment.

Needless to say, this moment will be one that Aaliyah and her family will remember for a long time.

At age 20, Rodman already is one of the biggest stars in the NWSL, especially after she signed a four-year contract extension with the Washington Spirit last year.

The USWNT plays Japan on Sunday afternoon in their second match of the SheBelieves Cup, this time playing in Nashville, Tenn.
