Could the two play on the same team again?

Could Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp and free agent Robert Woods be in for a reunion?

That’s what the 2021 wide receiver triple crown winner seemingly wants based on a Wednesday tweet. Shortly after Woods was released by the Titans, the former Los Angeles wideout tweeted, “Where should I go,” with an eyeball and smiley face emoji. Kupp was quick to respond to his former teammate, simply quote-tweeting Woods with a raising-hand emoji.

Kupp was drafted by the Rams in 2017, the same year Woods signed with the team as a free agent. The pair shared the field for five seasons, including Los Angeles’s ’21 Super Bowl run. That year, Kupp led the league in receptions (145), receiving yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16) while a torn ACL in November derailed Woods’s season. During his five years with the Rams, Woods started 67 games and tallied 367 receptions for 4,626 receiving yards—including two 1,000-plus receiving yard seasons—and 23 touchdowns.

The 2022 season was a different story for the Rams, Kupp and Woods. Los Angeles was seemingly cursed with the Super Bowl hangover, posting a 5–12 record and third place finish in the NFC West. That, in part, could be attributed to the Super Bowl LVI MVP suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 10 that sidelined him for the remainder of the season, as well as other injuries to key players like QB Matthew Stafford

As for Woods, who was traded to Tennessee in March 2022, he returned from his ACL injury and played in all 17 games for Tennessee. He posted a career-low in receiving yards (527) and scored just two touchdowns. After being cut by the team on Wednesday, Woods simply tweeted, “Free!”
