Mic Caught Mets’ Luis Guillorme Asking for a Home Run for the Funniest of Reasons

This was too good. And very relatable.
In this story:

Sometimes professional baseball players can be just like us. Sure, they make millions of dollars and travel the world playing a game that they love but things can also get difficult for them in life.

Just look at what happened to New York Mets infielder Luis Guillorme during a spring training game earlier this week. He was a little out of breath after getting on base and because of that he hoped his teammate, Pete Alonso, could hit a home run for him so he could just trot around the bases instead of having to sprint around them on any other type of hit.

That moment was picked up by the mic that Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt was wearing for the ESPN broadcast and it was pretty great:

That's so relatable. Running can be hard, especially when you’re already out of breath. Who wants to do that?!

Alonso ended up helping out his teammate but not by hitting a home run—he struck out on five pitches to end the inning.
