Alabama and San Diego State are currently battling for a spot in the Elite Eight. Every play in this Sweet 16 matchup is an important one and tensions are understandably high. 

All of that makes what we saw happen on one play in the first half very easy to laugh at, because we’ve never seen something like this before. 

In case you missed it, Alabama guard Jahvon Quinerly was called for an excessive flagrant 1 foul after he appeared to pick up SDSU’s Nathan Mensah and put him on his back for a few seconds.

Yeah, that was weird. And totally not allowed. Good call by the refs.
