Husky Nation can breathe a huge sigh of relief: Jonathan XIV is on his way to Houston!

More important than coach Dan Hurley’s lucky adult underoos, the UConn men’s basketball team will have its mascot, Jonathan the Husky, in attendance for Saturday’s Final Four matchup.

There had been some previous fears among Husky Nation that Jonathan XIV would be cheering on the team from home when No. 4 UConn tips off against No. 5 Miami.

On Thursday night, all those fears were put to rest when the pup took to social media to let the Connecticut faithful know he is now en route.

Via his official Twitter page, the pup was proud to announce: “I’m flying to Houston tonight!!”

Previously, the mascot tweeted he was unable to obtain a flight because he is "too big to fit under the seat." A subsequent tweet stated: “Looks like I’m not going. We’re unable to secure a plane ride for me and my 2 handlers. I’ll be cheering them on from home turf.”

Great job by all involved making sure one of the most important members of the UConn program will be in attendance for the school’s most important men’s basketball game since 2014.
