Kim Mulkey appeared to engage in a questionable interaction with an official on Sunday during LSU’s highly-charged women’s national championship game against Iowa.

Video of Mulkey, who has quite the history of animated encounters with officials, made the rounds on social media after it appeared to show the LSU coach make contact with an official twice on the sidelines. The exchange occurred after Mulkey protested what she believed was a foul on a shot attempt by forward LaDazhia Williams. Mulkey threw her arms in the air over the no-call and took a few steps into the nearby official, who appeared have her arm swiped away by Mulkey while trying to hold the coach back from walking further onto the court.

The lack of a technical foul on Mulkey drew the ire of many college basketball fans, with some also questioning why Mulkey wasn’t penalized for a few other questionable interactions with the officiating crew. Aside from the near disastrous sideline exchange, Mulkey was vocal with her frustration with the way the game was being officiated during a sideline interview.

“We’re gonna play aggressive. Now they’re either gonna call it aggressive on both ends, or let ’em play. We can do either,” Mulkey said.

While LSU would go on to soundly defeat Iowa, 102-85, Mulkey’s interactions with the refs could be a topic of conversation in the aftermath of the Tigers’ title victory.
