Yankees Utility Player Made Bad Team History With Awful 38-MPH Eephus Pitch
The Yankees returned home Thursday night and proceeded to have one of their worst games of the season, as they gave up nine runs to the Twins in the first inning and went on to lose the game, 11–2.
They did make some franchise history in the ugly performance, but it wasn’t the kind of history you want to make.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa, a utility player who has played both the infield and outfield this season, came in to pitch in the ninth inning of a 10-run game. His second pitch of his first-ever appearance on the mound was the slowest pitch ever recorded by the team.

What's amazing is that Kiner-Falefa gave up just one hit in the inning and didn’t allow a run while getting three hitters to fly out.
