NFL World Was Thrilled After Lamar Jackson Finally Agreed to New Deal With Ravens

Lamar Jackson finally earned the long-term contract that he desired from the Ravens.

Jackson and the Ravens agreed to a five-year deal worth $260 million per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, making him the highest paid player in NFL history. New of the completed deal for the Ravens’ star came just hours before the start of the 2023 NFL draft, and just minutes after Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that “major progress” had been made between the two parties.

Shortly after the blockbuster deal was announced, the Ravens posted a video of Jackson, saying that for the next five years there’s a “lot of flock going on.”

Prior to Thursday, the Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, which gave both sides until July 17 to reach a multi-year extension. Jackson later announced that he requested a trade from Baltimore on March 2.

However, with a new deal in place, the franchise is trending upward and social media—including Jackson’s newest teammate Odell Beckham Jr.—was excited for the quarterback’s new contract.
