LeBron James Having a Field Day on Social Media After Lakers’ Win
Typically, LeBron James does not involve himself in verbal sparring matches with other NBA players.
However, following the Lakers’ 125-85 rout of the Grizzlies to clinch their first-round series in Game 6 on Friday, the four-time NBA champion flexed his muscle on social media and took aim at Memphis forward Dillon Brooks.
After the Grizzlies’ won Game 2 on April 19, Brooks called James “old” and added that he “poked” bears. “I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40,” he added.
But on Friday, it was the four-time MVP who had the last laugh, and he made sure to let Brooks know he is still the NBA’s greatest player.
“If you ever see me fighting in the forest with a Grizzly bear, HELP THE BEAR,” James wrote in an Instagram caption.
But James was not done. The 38-year-old also tweeted a series of spicy lines toward Brooks.
“Unlike you little 🤬I'm a grown ass man, Big shoes to fill 🤬, grown ass pants Prolly hustled with your pops, go ask your parents Its apparent you're staring at a legend Who, put a few little 🤬in the they place before Trying to eat without saying they grace before! 🤫👑,” James tweeted.
James finished with 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting to help the Lakers win a playoff series at home for the first time since 2012. Brooks, meanwhile, finished with 10 points and avoided speaking to reporters after the game for the third time in the series.
Brooks left the locker room before the media was allowed to speak with players. As James and Los Angeles prepare to face the winner of the Warriors-Kings series in the semifinals, the 19-time All-Star provided the ultimate clap-back at Brooks.
One can only hope the Memphis forward will learn a valuable lessons to not poke bears in the future.
