Late into the 2023 NFL draft, the NFL Network introduced some prized puppy prospects. Among the puppies introduced during the broadcast was Patrick, who had raised some character concerns among analysts, mostly Daniel Jeremiah.

When Patrick’s photo came across the screen, one of his draft notes indicated that the dog “lacks focus at times.”

As it turns out, Patrick, who was being held by Jeremiah for part of the segment, had a bit of an accident while in the arms of the NFL Network draft analyst, peeing directly onto his white shirt.

Jeremiah was a good sport about the accident, but that didn’t prevent him from making an adjustment in Patrick’s scouting report.

“I’ve gotta be honest, there’s some character concerns for Patrick,” said Jeremiah. “I brought him in for one of my 30 visits, we spent a little time together. I think I made Patrick a little nervous. Yeah, Patrick peed on me. Absolutely peed on me.”

While Patrick may be guilty of the occasional lapse in focus, the scouting report credits him for his loyalty and ability to track the ball. A small amount of urine on the shirt of Jeremiah shouldn’t prevent this puppy from developing into a Pro Bowl caliber dog and one of the best “good boys” in the country.
