Former Pro Bowl punter Pat McAfee has become a sports media superstar since last playing in the NFL in 2016, most notably with his irreverent Pat McAfee Show. On Thursday, the typically-daft McAfee made a heartfelt announcement of the birth of his first child.

“Today’s a day that @MrsMcAfeeShow and I have been dreaming of.. I can’t wait to see where this foot gets to go beautiful girl,” McAfee wrote on Twitter. “WE LOVE YOU. Baby and Momma are both healthy. Momma and I are floating with joy. This is amazing. Thanks for all of the good vibes.”

McAfee understandably was absent on Thursday’s edition of his show, though he was able to call in and recount the story of how he and his wife were woken up around 3 a.m. when her water broke. He also shared that the two had endured two miscarriages previously, and how thankful they were to welcome their first child to the world.

McAfee declined to reveal his daughter’s name on Thursday, deferring to his wife to make the announcement. He also said that they would likely stay in the hospital for the next few days, so it’s unclear when he will return to his show. But it’s safe to say that when that day comes, he’ll still riding that new dad high—and perhaps be just a tad bit sleep-deprived.
