Giannis Antetokounmpo Puts Critics on Blast With Cryptic Tweet

Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo shared a mysterious tweet on social media Tuesday, seemingly offering his thoughts on the criticism that his team has received after the No. 8-seed Heat eliminated Milwaukee in five games in the first round of the playoffs.

Milwaukee entered this year’s postseason as the top seed in the Eastern Conference after concluding the regular season with a league-best 58–24 record. Despite the Bucks’ regular-season success, Milwaukee became the sixth No. 1 seed in NBA history to lose to an eighth seed.

A week after the Bucks’ postseason departure, Milwaukee fired coach Mike Budenholzer. As Milwaukee starts a new chapter, the two-time MVP appears determined to silence the critics.

“I’m tired of the disrespect. I’m coming,” Antetokounmpo wrote in a Twitter post.

Antetokounmpo’s cryptic tweet comes after the seven-time All-Star addressed Budenholzer’s departure for the first time Monday. The 28-year-old shared a picture of himself hugging Budenholzer after the Bucks won the 2021 NBA championship. 

Antetokounmpo thanked his former coach for what they accomplished.

“Thank you for five meaningful years Coach,” Antetokounmpo wrote on Instagram. “We accomplished something unbelievable and I’m forever grateful.”
