Draymond Green Trolls Karl-Anthony Towns Over Bold Prediction
Karl-Anthony Towns raised some eyebrows with a scalding hot take during a recent appearance on Patrick Beverley’s podcast, The Pat Bev Podcast With Rone.
The Timberwolves center claimed that when he retires, people are going to remember his legacy beyond just the stat book.
“When my time’s up and I retire... there’s gonna be people who are gonna say that I changed the game,” said Towns.
Warriors star Draymond Green caught wind of Towns’s career prediction, and took to Twitter to troll the former No. 1 pick.
“Aye [Patrick Beverley] when people come on yo show they change the game!!l?!? I’m looking forward to it man,” Green said on Wednesday.
It’s not quite clear what Towns thinks his legacy on the game of basketball is at this point, but in the eyes of Green, Minnesota’s big man certainly hasn’t earned himself the lofty title he claims.
Towns, the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, has made three All-Star appearances and earned two All-NBA selections throughout his first eight seasons in the league. During that span, he has not won a playoff series with the Timberwolves.
Green, a four-time NBA champion, doesn’t seem to feel that the 27-year-old’s career accolades warrant the status of a game-changer, despite Towns averaging of 23.0 points and 11.2 rebounds, with a 39.5% clip from three-point range for his career.
Perhaps Golden State’s star will expand on Towns’s hot take during a future podcast crossover with Beverley.
