When Jordan Love takes the field for the season opener against the Bears, it will represent an official changing of the guard for the Packers as Love replaces Aaron Rodgers as franchise quarterback. But while his effectiveness on the field remains to be seen, the new face of the franchise took a page out of Rodgers’ book with a perfect bit of trash talk toward Green Bay’s division rivals on Sunday.

To commemorate Father’s Day, Love offered a simple message for the Bears fan base, taking up a cause that Rodgers always held in high esteem with some holiday-inspired trash talk.

Rodgers always took great joy in talking smack to the Bears every chance he got, famously shouting “I still own you!” toward the stands after scoring a touchdown in Chicago in 2021. With this type of attitude, Love will surely fit right in as Green Bay’s new starter.

Love has played in 10 games over his first three seasons in the NFL, with just one start coming in 2021. He’s completed 60.2% of his pass attempts for 606 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions for his career.

The Packers selected Love with the No. 26 pick in the 2020 draft out of Utah State, setting him up to back up Rodgers for the past three years. He’ll assume starting duties after Rodgers was traded to the Jets this offseason.
