Cardinals reliever Jordan Hicks found a little something extra for his final pitch of Monday’s win against the Nationals. The flamethrowing right-hander shut the door on Washington with a devastating sinker that clocked in at over 104 mph.

Not only was the 104.3 mph sinker Hicks’s fastest pitch since 2019, but the pitch’s late movement also makes things truly unfair.

Lane Thomas stood no chance against Hicks, who picked up his third save in as many days, capping off the trio of outings with what was arguably his best pitch of the season. The stunning sinker stirred up quite a reaction on Twitter, with MLB fans left in awe by Hicks’s unhittable pitch.
