Drew Rosenhaus Taunts Shark in Open Water During Fishing Trip
NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus shared a video on Tuesday from a fishing trip he was on alongside star Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
While on the trip, Rosenhaus could be seen in the water alongside a shark, getting up close to the animal while next to the fishing boat.
Rosenhaus proceeded to grab the shark by its tail and pose for videos and photos while in the water. The shark, which an expert described as not being fully healthy, barely reacted to the agent’s actions.
Rosenhaus uploaded a video of the incident to social media, which he captioned, “Went fishing with @cheetah (Tyreek Hill) and decided to get up close to this Dusky Shark.”
Someone could be overheard asking Hill if he wanted to get in the water with Rosenhaus and the shark, to which the wide receiver responded candidly, saying, “Hell nah.”
Via USA Today, the aforementioned shark expert, Dr. Chris Lowe, who serves as the director of the Shark Lab at California State University, Long Beach, suggested that had the shark been healthy, Rosenhaus’ antics could have proven disastrous.
“The fact that that shark just kind of slowly ambled towards the boat. Kind of banged into the boat, kind of rolled upside down, those are the behaviors we see from a shark that's either been caught and exhausted from the fight and then released, and they're kind of groggy,” said Lowe, who advised against replicating Rosenhaus’s actions.
Rosenhaus is one of the NFL’s highest-profile agents, having negotiated more than $7 billion worth of contracts throughout his career. Apparently, he’s a fearless fisherman, too.
