Given the massive hype that preceded his arrival to the NBA, it wouldn’t be surprising if Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama was considered one of the league’s all-time greats by the end of his playing career. But before he steps foot on a league court, the recent No. 1 pick was asked who he sees as the best in history.

In filling out an all-time starting five, Wembanyama certainly had a proclivity for the modern game, with two active players—LeBron James and Stephen Curry—making his cut. He also wisely gave a nod to his new franchise with the inclusion of Tim Duncan.

He also identified two all-time greats in Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal.

When asked if he considered including himself on that list, Wembanyama smiled and said, “I haven’t proven anything.”

Wembanyama might be unproven in the NBA ranks, but his international career and singular combination of size and skill have plenty of people giddy with his potential. Basketball fans will get their first chance to see Wembanyama in a Spurs jersey when San Antonio faces off against the Hornets and No. 2 pick Brandon Miller in the NBA’s summer league on July 3.
