Canadiens goaltender Carey Price botched the announcement of the organization’s first-round pick during Wednesday’s NHL draft, seemingly forgetting the last name of the selection, David Reinbacher.

Price got halfway through announcing Montreal’s pick at No. 5 in the draft before he awkwardly struggled to recall Reinbacher’s name until GM Kent Hughes stepped in with an assist.

The unfortunate draft night moment made the rounds on social media, prompting Price to come forth and apologized to Reinbacher, making sure to write out his last name in full.

“Boy that was embarrassing. Sorry David... Reinbacher,” wrote Price on Twitter.

It’s good to see Price attempt to laugh off and embrace the moment, which ended up being one of the more entertaining moments of Wednesday’s draft at the Bridgestone Arena.

Reinbacher will look to leave his mark on the Canadiens’ organization and ensure that his name isn’t again forgotten by the legendary goaltender.

The 18-year-old defenseman hails from Austria. He played last season for Swiss National League side EHC Kloten where he registered 22 points (three goals) in 46 games.
