The Tigers welcome backed Tarik Skubal to their starting rotation on Tuesday and the 26-year-old left-hander didn’t disappoint as he threw four scoreless (and hitless) innings against the Athletics

Skubal, who had flexor tendon surgery last August, struck out six of the first 10 A’s batters that he faced in his season debut. 

The Tigers ended up losing the game, 1–0, but Skubal’s dominant performance in his return to the mound should have the team and its fans excited about the future.

Skubal’s best strikeout of the game came when he made Oakland’s Nick Allen look really silly after trying to check his swing:
