Stephen A. Smith was hosting callers during a recent episode of his podcast, The Stephen A. Smith Show, when one individual’s hypothetical question seemed to light a fire within the 55-year-old.

Muhammed, who called in from Seattle, asked Smith whether he would rather have Stephen Curry or Trae Young at their current ages heading into the 2023-24 season. After hearing the question, Smith almost hung up the phone in disgust.

Before declaring that his choice was unequivocally Curry, Smith went nuclear on the unsuspecting caller, labeling his question as “idiotic.”

“Muhammed, my brother. With respect. That’s a dumb— question. What an idiotic question. Thank God you didn’t show your face when you asked that question. Steph Curry or Trae Young? It’s not even a question. Steph Curry is the greatest shooter ever known to man,” said Smith. “It’s a dumb question. You can do better. I expect better from my callers. Because I will hang up on your a--.”

Smith made his stance abundantly clear, fully backing a 35-year-old Curry over the 24-year-old Young without a slight hesitation before ripping into the caller for the quality of his question.

As for Muhammed, he certainly received more than he bargained for when calling into the show, though he did get the answer he was after.
