The 2023 British Open is off and running at Royal Liverpool, and while there’s already been a number of cool golf shots, there’s been one thing that’s annoying fans trying to watch on TV: the constant barrage of commercials shown on the broadcast. 

NBC Sports is once again airing the tournament across Peacock, USA Network and NBC. Thursday morning’s early first-round coverage has been an onslaught of commercial breaks, which has made it very frustrating for viewers. This isn’t anything new, but it does make it very hard to watch.

The “playing through” segments are when they split the screen and show ads on the right side and play on the left. The volume from the ad plays over the action, which isn’t a great experience.
