NFL fans are astutely aware that opposing defenses often fail to contain two-time NFL League MVP Patrick Mahomes. And now we can officially add bees to the list as well.

On Thursday, KSHB41 sports anchor Aaron Ladd shared a now-viral video. The clip shows a segment from today’s Kansas City training camp practice where bees swarmed a group of Chiefs players and coaches.

While backup quarterback Shane Buechele appeared to be ‘boxing’ the bees, Mahomes showed his deft elusiveness by evading the bees with the grace and athleticism he displays while in the pocket on the gridiron.

Ladd perfectly summarized the event with the headline: “With the bee-fence closing in, Mahomes escapes the pocket.”

It didn’t take long for the talented two-time Super Bowl Champion to reply to the video by stating he would clearly rather face opposing defensive players than the dreaded winged insect.

“I don’t mess with bees 🤣🤣🤣”, Mahomes jokingly retorted.

While coaches can be seen distracted by the pesky insects, it should be noted that Mahomes maintained his composure while holding on to possession of the football as he danced around the swarm - an image NFL frustrated defenders know all too well.
