Angels superstar Shohei Ohtani was visibly frustrated in the dugout on Saturday during the team’s loss against the Pirates.

Ohtani was held hitless during the 3-0 defeat, and after a disappointing at-bat during the game, the slugger could be seen taking his frustrations out on some of his gear.

After ripping off his elbow pad and slamming it on the ground, Ohtani proceeded to smash his helmet. Things didn’t go to plan, however, and the 29-year-old ended up taking a ricochet shot off the ear.

It was an unorthodox sight for the usually cool-tempered Ohtani, who proceeded to pick his belongings up and put them into his cubby.

Ohtani went 0-for-4 in the loss against Pittsburgh, striking out in three of his four plate appearances. His inability to get on base caused him to temporarily lose his cool, though he was seen smiling in the dugout later on in the game.

The loss sees Anaheim fall to 50-49, and certainly won’t help simmer down the trade rumors involving their two-way sensation.
