Tyreek Hill Had the Perfect Reaction to Dolphins Signing Eli Apple
With Jalen Ramsey out for the start of the season due to a meniscus injury, the Dolphins are reportedly signing Eli Apple to add depth to their secondary. What makes that signing so intriguing is Apple’s long standing beef with one of his new teammates: wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
During the 2022 AFC Championship Game between the Chiefs and Bengals, Hill and Apple battled on the field. After Cincinnati won, in large part due to a key contribution from Apple, the cornerback made sure to trash talk Hill as the Bengals were heading to the Super Bowl and Kansas City was going home after blowing a lead.
In the Super Bowl, though, Apple allowed the game-winning touchdown to Rams receiver Cooper Kupp, and Hill responded by laughing on Twitter.
Fast forward to last season, when the two faced off during a Dolphins–Bengals game, and Hill had some words for Apple beforehand.
“I can’t wait to go against Eli Apple, man,” Hill said. “I owe you boy. I owe you. I’m here. The cheetah is here.”
While Cincinnati won the rematch, Hill had 10 catches and 160 receiving yards on the day.
Apple spent the offseason as a free agent, and now is joining one of his biggest rivals in Miami. In response, Hill had just one thing to say on Twitter.
“Monday practice gone be fun,” he wrote.
