The scenes in Baltimore have to be seen to be believed.

Weather often gets in the way of summer baseball games and that was the case once again in Baltimore ahead of the AL East rivalry tilt between the Orioles and the Yankees

However, the scenes from Camden Yards on Friday showed something above and beyond the usual July storm.

A photo taken by Orioles reporter Melanie Newman showed dark, swirling clouds in the skies right above the stadium shortly after the game was scheduled to get underway at 7:05 p.m. ET. Needless to say, given the ominous scenes and the inclement weather forecast, first pitch was delayed and remained that way for more than two hours.

Given that baseball fans weren’t given an opportunity to watch the game—which was expected to include Aaron Judge’s highly-anticipated return to New York’s lineup after nearly two months away—the weather was the primary discussion topic. Right at the top of mind was the visually stunning photo from Newman, which drummed up quite a bit of banter on social media.
