Notre Dame Reveals Sweet New Green Uniforms Set for Ohio State Matchup
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish revealed a new all green uniform on Monday morning ahead of the 2023 college football season.
The uniform includes a green jersey with gold detailing, green pants, green shoes with gold cleats and a gold helmet. Notre Dame has showcased other green jerseys in the past, but the big difference this time is the addition of the green pants.
The new uniforms will be seen on a national stage when Notre Dame wears them for the first time on Saturday, Sept. 23 when they host Ohio State. The Fighting Irish will be looking to get some revenge after losing to the Buckeyes, 21–10, last year.
In Notre Dame’s announcement of the jerseys, head coach Marcus Freeman and running back Audric Estimé spoofed the 1996 movie Jerry McGuire, which is known for the quote “Show me the money!” In their spoof, Estimé instead says “Show me the green jerseys!” Quarterback Sam Hartman makes an appearance in the video, too.
After the announcement, college football fans quickly fell in love with the new uniforms, unlike other Notre Dame green jerseys in the past. Here’s some of the best social media reactions to the green uniforms.
