Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott sported his non-contact red jersey in training camp practice on Tuesday, which means he shouldn’t be hit in any capacity during drills.

Standout linebacker Micah Parsons missed that memo, as he broke through the offensive line and came in low on Prescott as he released a pass during 11-on-11 drills.

Prescott was O.K., avoiding any injury from the hit. However, the unexpected play during practice that could have led to serious injury to Prescott had Cowboys fans feeling pretty uneasy when the video was released on social media.

Here’s the play in question, where Parsons came in low.

Here are some of the best reactions from Cowboys fans in the wake of the hit.

Prescott had an up-and-down 2022 season, and is looking to bounce back to form this fall. He completed 66.2% of his passes last season, which was in line with his career average, but threw 23 touchdowns to 15 interceptions as he struggled to consistently take care of the football.

On the flip side, nobody is concerned about the production of Parsons, who is one of the best defensive players in the NFL. In his second professional season, Parsons recorded 13.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and 42 solo tackles.
