Aaron Rodgers Tells Jets Star Sauce Gardner He’ll Be in Hall of Fame One Day

The Jets openly voiced their displeasure about being selected to be on HBO's hit show Hard Knocks, an obligation they couldn’t turn down.

However, in episode one of this year’s edition of the hit series, several of the team’s players and coaches shined under the bright lights of the cameras, even if they didn’t necessarily want to be there.

Among those who stuck out in Tuesday’s season premiere were head coach Robert Saleh, quarterback Aaron Rodgers and last season’s Defensive Rookie of the Year Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner.

In fact, the two stars of the Jets’ offense and defense, respectively, supplied fans with one of the most memorable moments of the first episode.

While in street clothes prior to the team’s preseason Hall of Fame game against the Browns in Canton, Ohio, the cameras picked up a conversation between the star duo.

“It’s a cool experience right here, man,” Gardner said to Rodgers, who replied: "You'll be here one day."

The shutdown cornerback quickly retorted: “Hey man, that's the plan. I want to play in the league for 40 years."

The four-time NFL MVP jokingly replied: “I’ll be real old and grey when that happens.”

Rodgers, who has immense expectations to lead the Jets to their first Super Bowl in 54 years, has now raised the bar to the ultimate level for the team’s 22-year-old star.
